of the brothers remembers their parents, they were too small
when their mother died. Since then they have been living with
their grandparents. Alhuman says that maybe their grandmother
loves them, but she has never showed it. He says: We have been
working, and whenever we make a mistake we are punished. Even
the day Emma came to visit them, and three visitors were
looking, the boys were beaten, the visitors could not
understand why. They were given very little food, and had no
clothes or shoes to use in school. Alhuman
says: After we came to ECCC we were given shoes for the first
time, thank you very much! Me and my brother Salim feel very
confortable here, I think God must have heard my crying. I
cried a lot when Salim went to ECCC first, but after a day
Emma came for me too, thank you, I will be a very good boy and
a very good student, also I love all the other children at the
centre, I will teach them, and Salim, good behaviour, we must
all be good, now that we are like other children
